The Owl and The Pussy Cat

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea In a beautiful 'red and white'(!) boat, They took some honey, and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five pound note. The Owl looked up to the stars above, And sang to a small guitar, 'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love, What a beautiful Pussy you are, You are, You are! What a beautiful Pussy you are!'

Harvest Supper in the hall

Saturday evening was the village Harvest Supper. I helped by dressing up the hall with harvesty drapes, and a whole gang of people laid tables, did flower arrangements and made huge amounts of fabulous food.
Tables laden with food

Can you see my leafy cloth on the right?

Harvest Loaf
And then the puddings came out...I had to snap these shots fast before they disappeared!

And then there was entertainment.
In good village style in the form of some children playing fantastic violin music, poem readings, and some singing. Here are some barmy 'Ladies!' who 'performed'....
..........I think they borrowed the skirts?!..........I know they borrowed the guitars...

Where did they get those hairdo's?
and some not so barmy people who sang some harvesty songs..
me second from right,
(whoops that shirt doesn't go with that skirt)

At the end of the evening loads of people washed up, cleared away tables, chairs and decorations, and in no time at all it was the end of the evening.
What a lovely evening.
