The Owl and The Pussy Cat

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea In a beautiful 'red and white'(!) boat, They took some honey, and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five pound note. The Owl looked up to the stars above, And sang to a small guitar, 'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love, What a beautiful Pussy you are, You are, You are! What a beautiful Pussy you are!'

Nature journalling

I did a trial nature journaling workshop with friends, then two half day drop-in workshops with Organic Arts at West Town Farm. It all went well and participants seemed to enjoy themselves. I've learnt a lot and I'm looking forward to doing more and developing/adapting them as I go. Here are some pictures of some of the little books that were made.

I'm still not comfortable with the term 'nature jounals', anyone got any other suggestions?

  1. This is brilliant! It really inspires me! I took a nature observation course at college, as well as an ornithology course and the most delightful aspect for me was the process of recording my observations/sketches in a journal. I believe I will start again. Thank you!!

  3. Glad I have inspired you Acorn cabinet, inspiring people makes me very happy.
Yes, thanks Barry, I like 'Nature Notes'. I found someone making some similar books and calling them 'Spirit books'. I liked the sentiment but that still wasn't quite right for me. Hmm, perhaps 'Spirit of Nature', 'Notes from Nature', 'Nature notebooks', uh oh, too much choice, I'll settle on something eventually!
